Ecuador registers 135.749 cases of COVID-19 and 11.312 deaths

For the first time, after more than four months, the country reports less than a thousand hospitalized in one day

Ecuador reports 784 new infections and 32 more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, the country reports 135.749 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 11.312 deaths due to this pandemic on September 29.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 135.749 infected confirmed with a PCR test, 7.477 deaths with a positive diagnosis and 3.803 deaths that are suspected of being caused by the new coronavirus.

For the first time, after more than four months, the country reports less than a thousand patients hospitalized in one day. This Tuesday, there are 638 stable hospitalized and 360 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 998 hospitalized. While 125 more people were discharged from hospital.

Since the start of the pandemic, 112.296 patients have recovered. According to the government report, it represents 83.34% of the total infected. Each week there is an increase of 5.000 people who overcome, on average, the disease weekly.

Pichincha registers 411 new infections and 16 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The province most affected by the pandemic in the country has a total of 39.192 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Quito adds 370 new infected and the total number of cases in the Ecuadorian capital rises to 35.972.
